We had some challenges around employee engagement & wasted £££ on company benefits, and decided to use CHEER to run a series of ‘EVP’ workshops with the teams. The approach was fantastic; the overall structure around properly understanding not only what motivates our staff but also how they differed by team, function, etc. gave us a load of insight which we were previously lacking – so not only did we come away from the process with some very clear actions on how to structure our benefits packages, it was also a great exercise for the team to 1) understand what motivates them and what they value about work the most and 2) provide completely transparent feedback in a constructive way on how we can improve the company for them. In turn, I have to say that it’s had a positive impact on all of our attitudes and subsequently performance as a result. Lastly, worth mentioning that Joe in particular struck the right balance of candour, humour, professionalism, and fun – which I think really helped employees buy into the whole process from the start. Would definitely recommend and will be using CHEER again in the future.

Joe was fundamental in helping me get a previous job, through coaching me through both my CV and cover letter. In addition, he also spent the time walking me through how to best prepare for an interview, I still use these best practises to this day, not only for interviewing for roles, but also internally when considering candidates and for training purposes.

Joe has worked in Talent for 13 years working in both agency and in-house recruitment, and more recently Head of People/Talent.

His personal mission is to help people find their happiness at work, and his goal is to positively impact 100,000 people.

About Joe.

Joe is a leading voice on Employee Engagement, and is
writing a book on EVP (employee value proposition).

He has appeared on podcasts, in articles, and has recorded a number of employer branding materials in both a personal and professional capacity, speaking with leading names in happiness, culture, and engagement along the way.

He believes EVP is the best, non-anonymous approach, to help employees understand what’s important to them, and how well their company deliver on what they offer. At the same time revealing what levers a company can and should use to retain talent.

He has been part of a number of award winning teams both for talent (employee of the year, talent team award) and sales (PPA Sales Team of the year x 2), with over 100 recommendations on Linkedin.
